One in four U.S. children struggle with hunger, while one in three is obese or overweight. Yet the
root cause is the same: lack of access to healthy food.
Give children nutrition education in the classroom, hands-on learning through school gardens, and nourishing food in the cafeteria, and a lifetime of healthy eating can take root. Enter FoodCorps. FoodCorps is a national nonprofit organization that seeks to address childhood obesity and diet-related disease while training future farmers and public health leaders. Our first 50 service members are spending this year teaching food and nutrition education, building and tending school gardens, and sourcing local food for school meals in communities with limited resources and high-obesity rates. Do you share our vision for a world in which affordable, fair, healthy food is expected and enjoyed by all? You can: • Support our work through sponsorships and donations • Apply for a School Garden Grant for a project in your community • Connect with our community to stay informed FoodCorps, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. |
