Is Your Identity Really A Target?

Is Your Identity Really A Target?
Identity theft is a huge problem, and anybody can be a victim. The problem is, it usually takes close to a year before the victim becomes aware that their credit is now ruined. Because of the number of clients I work with, I do see it often.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to give you some ways to keep this from happening to you. Here's a few quick, simple strategy to implement immediately.

When you are writing checks to pay your credit card accounts, do NOT put the complete account number in the "For" line of the check. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who handles your check through all the processing channels won't have access to it. The next time you order checks from your bank, have just your first initial & last name printed on the return address line. If someone takes your checkbook, they won't know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but you and your bank will know.

If you have not signed up for my FREE identity theft program, you should! Once every 4 months I will send you a copy of your credit report, WITH your credit score. Don't miss out on this great courtesy service that could keep you from experiencing the nightmare of identity theft.
